Junior Sous Chef at JW Steakhouse, JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London. You will supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers, determine how food should be presented with decorative displays, ensure proper portioning and garnish, monitor quantities, inform service staff of menu specials and items out of stock, assist with special meals or substitutions, support kitchen tasks, provide needed items to cooks, monitor stock, maintain kitchen logs for food safety, ensure food quality and notify management if specifications aren’t met. You’ll also assist management in training, evaluating, coaching, and motivating staff; follow safety policies; ensure professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information; engage with guests to address service needs; build positive working relationships; uphold quality standards; and stand for extended periods.
