Job Summary
Design, develop, and test software applications within aerospace and defence systems, focusing on software architecture and languages like C, C++, and C#. Engage in system testing, verification, and microcontroller development using tools such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Collaborate within a team environment to contribute to product development and flight test execution support. Join a comprehensive 24-month Graduate Development Programme with mentorship, starting full-time in office at Incomar's Centurion facilities from February 2027.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or post graduate degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or a relevant software related tertiary qualification or currently studying such a qualification for completion by the end of 2026
- South African Citizenship or permanent residence in South Africa with a valid work permit
- A full-time in office presence is required at Incomar's facilities in Centurion, Gauteng from February 2027
- No specific work experience in software development is required, however personal experience in developing software for desktop and/or embedded applications will be beneficial
- An interest in software intensive systems, with some hands-on experience in this field
- Knowledge of software architecture design & development skills
- Knowledge of and an interest in C, C++ and/or C# computer languages
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Successful candidates will be required to provide an up-to-date police clearance certificate
- Successful candidates must be willing to commit for a Graduate Development Programme of up to 24 months
- Successful candidates offered permanent positions after the initial 12 months will be required to commit to a minimum of a 24-month work back employment term following successful completion of the 24-month Graduate Development Programme
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to software systems and verification and testing of the systems
- An interest in developing software for microcontrollers (e.g. Ardunio, Raspberry Pi, etc)
- An interest in developing desktop software applications for Linux and/or Microsoft Windows based systems
- Exposure to version control systems e.g. GIT / SVN
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- General interest in the Military, Defence and Aerospace Industry
