Junior Software Developer

Junior Software Developer at Laborie’s R&D team contributes to the design, development, testing and maintenance of software applications, including their integration with medical devices. The role supports the full software development lifecycle and collaborates closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives. Responsibilities include design, implementation, and verification of software components, defining requirements and specifications, ensuring design traceability, and maintaining documentation in line with Laborie’s Quality Management System and IEC 62304. The position involves unit and integration testing, code reviews, estimating development effort, identifying and resolving moderately complex defects, maintaining software quality, providing status updates to project leads, and continuously learning new tools and practices. Minimum qualifications include living in or around Hengelo (or willingness to move), a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, knowledge of object-oriented programming, experience with C# or C++, willingness to learn Delphi, experience with Git, familiarity with SDLC processes, and strong English communication skills. Desirable experience includes familiarity with AI models/APIs or AI-assisted development tools.
