Job Summary
Define, plan, and build complex applications using Java and Javascript/Typescript by translating requirements, UI/UX designs, and high-fidelity prototypes into functional visual elements and desired behaviors. Write well-designed, testable, efficient code adhering to best practices while promoting strict peer review and validation to ensure high-quality standards. Maintain software applications throughout the product lifecycle by collaborating with end users, designers, and engineers across disciplines. This role supports the design and construction of the world's finest submarines for the United States Navy, offering opportunities to introduce new tools, techniques, and innovative solutions within a multi-disciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
- 0-2 years of hands-on experience developing java applications and/or responsive web applications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Level Security Clearance through the Department of Defense
Desired Qualifications
- Java and/or web-based application development using Javascript/Typescript
- Experience developing applications with Oracle/SQL databases using programming languages such as Java, JavaScript/Typescript, and React
- Experience or knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- A solid understanding of how applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
- Experience in DevOps CI/CD pipelines is advantageous
- Experience with automated testing, e.g. Selenium, jUnit
