Job Summary
Support the commercial team in day-to-day duties, including preparing tenders through measurement, packaging, and analysis. Assist with variations, valuations, and final accounts while carrying out site measurement to maintain accurate records. Monitor progress on site and report on commercial impacts, attending subcontractor meetings as required. Contribute to cost value reconciliations and cash management under supervision, gaining exposure to subcontractor negotiations and contract law interpretation. Ensure risk and opportunity are considered during all commercial activities while implementing the wider commercial strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications effectively
- Familiarity with the Standard Method of Measurement
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships
- Demonstrates commercial awareness and willingness to learn
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (completed or currently in progress)
- Understanding of the Standard Method of Measurement (SMM)
- Awareness of JCT forms of contract
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working on contracts over €5m or £5m
- Exposure to contracts over €15m or £15m
- Some knowledge of subcontractor negotiation and contract administration
- Additional training or experience in NEC contract forms
- Involvement in industry placements or work experience
