Junior Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary
Measure, estimate, and prepare variations for residential retrofit works, while reviewing subcontractor pricing and preparing tender documentation from project drawings. Issue requests for pricing to subcontractors, evaluate responses, and prepare financial project reporting including variations and claims management. Work closely with project managers, architects, consultants, and client representatives to ensure projects are delivered within budget. Support the QS team in maintaining cost accuracy and commercial performance across projects. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals seeking to build experience with a global leader in integrated facilities management.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary study in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, or a related discipline
- Some experience or exposure to the construction industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to interpret construction documentation and drawings
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Full working rights in New Zealand
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience using construction rates, estimating, or quantity surveying principles
- Exposure to residential construction or retrofit projects
- Experience preparing tenders, variations, or project cost reports
- Knowledge of New Zealand construction practices and contracts
