Junior Project Developer (Renewable Energy)

Job Summary
Conduct site selection for wind and solar projects by analyzing land suitability, resource potential, grid connectivity, and environmental constraints. Execute preliminary feasibility studies, including land use assessments, topography reviews, and regulatory zoning checks. Coordinate permitting processes with local, state, and federal agencies while tracking regulatory requirements and deadlines. Assist in building relationships with landowners, local communities, utilities, and government officials through public consultations and outreach initiatives. Collaborate on financial models, including LCOE, ROI, and cash flow projections, and analyze meteorological data for energy yield assessments. Maintain organized project documentation and prepare progress reports for internal teams and external stakeholders. Monitor industry trends and policy changes to identify new development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in renewable energy, project development, or a related field (internships included)
- Familiarity with wind/solar project lifecycle stages (development, permitting, construction, operations)
- Basic proficiency in GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Google Earth Pro), PVsyst (for solar) and/or wind modeling software (e.g., WindPro, WAsP)
- Intermediate Excel skills for data analysis and modeling
- Python (Pandas, NumPy) or MatLab
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
