Job Summary
Translate broadcast operator needs into epics, features, and user stories while maintaining a prioritized backlog using data, value, and risk. Define and coordinate QC activities including functional, video/audio stream integration, regression, and UAT to ensure replay and graphics systems remain stable. Work day-to-day with Software Engineering, Video Infrastructure, and QA teams to align on scope, participate in Agile ceremonies, and coordinate third-line support. Create documentation, technical runbooks, and training materials to support live studio pilots and staged roll-outs. This Junior Product Owner role bridges technical execution and operational excellence within Hawk-Eye Innovations' video and broadcast graphics value stream, driving products that power instant replays and broadcast augmentation for global sports leagues.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in a product-related role (e.g., Associate Product Owner, Business Analyst, QA, Broadcast Operator, or similar) working on technically complex products
- Strong technical grounding with the ability to communicate effectively with software engineers, QA, and media operators across hardware-software integrated systems
- Proven experience coordinating QC/regression testing and managing defect resolution
- Basic understanding or experience working with video streaming, capture technology, media formats, or data-oriented products, with the ability to interpret basic operational telemetry
- Excellent communication skills
- Proactive mindset to plan your own work, handle live environment ambiguity, and escalate risks appropriately
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting product launches and creating technical documentation or tutorial content for broadcast teams
- Exposure to stakeholder engagement, prioritization frameworks, and roadmap contribution
- Experience working with products that combine software, high-performance video capture hardware, and graphics engines in high-pressure, live broadcast, or real-time sports environments (e.g., OB vans, master control rooms)
