Job Summary
The role focuses on supporting the Molybdenum Trader in Asia in managing and building customer relationships, facilitating and executing sales, initiating trading opportunities and providing key insights into local and regional markets (suppliers / miners, customers and competitors) with a view of maximising the sustainable value and growth of the molybdenum book within risk and governance policies. Key tasks include Sales Strategy and Plans, Managing regional customers and supplier accounts, Developing new routes to market, Leveraging data analytics for performance insights, Cross-Functional Collaboration with Legal/Contract Administration/ISOP, and contributing to market intelligence and business development in Asia. The position requires significant travel, strong communication, market knowledge of molybdenum and ferro alloys, and the ability to build trusted relationships with customers and roasters; English proficiency is required and remote work is not indicated for this location.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of supply and consumption of molybdenum and other ferro alloys in stainless, carbon, and specialty steel markets
- Experience and technical knowledge in the marketing and physical trading of molybdenum concentrates/finished products or ferro alloys
- Ability to actively identify and support the management of price risk in equity and third-party transactions
- Highly motivated, charismatic, self-starter, winning personality
- Team player with positive impact on team culture
- Good analytic skills
- Eager to learn and develop
- Ability to build and grow long-term relationships with customers and suppliers
- Significant local business travel to visit customers
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Good communication skills
