Job Summary
Junior PHP Developer to join ACE Money Transfer's engineering team. Responsibilities include assisting in developing PHP features and fixing bugs under guidance from senior developers, writing clean code following team standards, applying PHP 8.x and Laravel fundamentals, using AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to understand code and generate boilerplate, writing basic unit tests, participating in daily standups and sprint planning, and documenting work (code comments, changelogs, basic API documentation). The role emphasizes learning and growth with support from the team; candidate should have 0–2 years of PHP development experience, familiarity with HTML/CSS/JavaScript, SQL, Git, and REST APIs, and a willingness to learn and use AI coding assistants.
Required Qualifications
- 0–2 years of PHP development experience (internships and personal projects are acceptable)
- Basic understanding of PHP syntax, functions, and object-oriented programming concepts
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript
- Understanding of relational databases and basic SQL queries
- Experience using Git for version control
- Willingness and ability to use AI coding assistants as learning and productivity tools
- Strong desire to learn, ask questions, and grow professionally
- Basic knowledge of REST APIs and how they work
