Junior PCB CAD Designer

Job Summary
Design and model electronic hardware and PCBs for applications within the aerospace and defence industry, utilizing Altium or other CAD packages. Gain hands-on experience on real-world projects involving high-speed digital, power, and analogue designs while receiving comprehensive training and mentorship. Join a development team of experienced designers and engineers to contribute to product development and flight operations capabilities. Commit to a 24-month Graduate Development Programme with an initial 12-month term, followed by a permanent role requiring a minimum 24-month work-back employment term. Full-time in-office presence is required at Incomar's Pretoria facilities starting January 2027.
Required Qualifications
- Applicable BEng Tech, Diploma in Engineering or relevant technical qualification or currently studying such a qualification for completion by the end of 2026
- South African Citizenship or permanent residence in South Africa with a valid work permit
- A full-time in office presence is required at Incomar's facilities in Pretoria, Gauteng from January 2027
- Knowledge and an interest in electronic hardware modelling and design including detailed PCB design (high-speed digital, power and analogue designs)
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Successful candidates will be required to commit to an initial 12-month Graduate Development Programme
- Successful candidates must be willing to commit for a Graduate Development Programme of up to 24 months
- Successful candidates offered permanent positions after the initial 12 months will be required to commit to a minimum of a 24-month work-back employment term following successful completion of the 24-month Graduate Development Programme
- Successful Candidates will be required to provide an up-to-date police clearance certificate
Desired Qualifications
- exposure to electronic design and PCB layout
- Exposure to PCB design packages (Altium preferred)
- Keen interest in aerospace and defence related industries with respect to unique materials, manufacturing and assembly methods applicable to the aerospace and defence industry
- Exposure computer aided electronic hardware design
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- General interest in the Military, Defence and Aerospace Industry
