Job Summary
Junior Network Engineer responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure to support state agency clients; this hybrid role requires onsite presence in Glen Burnie, MD. Key duties include assisting with deployment and equipment refreshes, contributing to design proposals, installing new equipment, creating and maintaining technical documentation, supporting on-call operations, lab testing and validation of hardware and code, creating maintenance plans, performing site surveys, and generating reports. Requires CCNA or JNCIA, 5+ years of related experience, knowledge of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP, MPLS), network monitoring, documentation skills, strong customer service and communication abilities, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Desired familiarity with Python and Ansible; ITIL 4 Foundation and related experience are a plus. Work environment notes a hybrid role with onsite requirements in Maryland.
Required Qualifications
- JNCIA or CCNA (Required)
- 5+ years of experience in a computer related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or engineering related field (Preferred)
