Job Summary
Prepare and maintain a scale F1 wind tunnel model, including assembly, repair, and inspection of mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic components. Support wind tunnel testing activities by handling materials, optimizing part preparation schedules, and collaborating with the design department to improve assembly processes. Perform routine checks on specialized equipment and resolve issues under senior team guidance while adhering to strict safety and compliance protocols. Work in shifts and weekends during critical race phases, utilizing a company vehicle or personal car for material handling and logistics tasks.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma with a technical focus or equivalent
- Category B driving license
- Brief experience as a model maker in motorsport or high-tech workshops
- Ability to read technical and electrical diagrams
- A fair understanding of the English language
- Knowledge of key automotive systems and mechanical equipment
- Ability to maintain calm and focus in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Ability to handle setbacks and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
- Trusted to manage confidential information and sensitive team matters
- Collaborative mindset with a commitment to team cohesion and shared success
- Willingness to mentor and develop talent within the organisation
- Comfortable with extensive travel and irregular working hours, including weekends and race days
- Open to innovation and continuous improvement in processes and culture
- Security clearance to National Security Vetting standards
- UK resident for the last 5 consecutive years
