Job Summary
Manage quality assurance and quality control for the assay lab and mill operations while monitoring processes to maintain or increase production. Identify and troubleshoot issues in the production process, providing technical assistance to operators, millwrights, and lab technicians. Run tests on new ore bodies and chemicals to optimize recoveries, maintain chemical inventory, and design plant sampling surveys. Compile daily metallurgical reports and analyze data to make recommendations for change based on engineering principles. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and confidentiality policies. Report to the Mill Manager at Empire State Mines, a Canadian-based mining company focused on zinc operations and the Kilbourne Graphite Project.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Metallurgy, mineral processing, or chemical engineering
- Understanding of mineral processing techniques like flotation, gravity separation, and magnetic separation
- Proficient in interpreting data and performance metrics
- 3 years' hands-on experience
- Skill in written and verbal communication (in English), critical thinking, data analysis
