Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive training and mentorship within the Graduate Development Programme, gaining hands-on experience in aerostructures, airframes, and mechanical parts for aerospace and defence applications. Develop skills in mechanical component design, assembly, and analysis using simulation packages like SolidWorks and MSC Nastran. Contribute to real-world projects on systems design, development, integration, and flight test execution while integrating into a team of experienced engineers. Commit to a 24-month programme with an initial 12-month term, followed by a permanent role if demonstrated aptitude is shown.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or post graduate degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or currently studying such a qualification for completion by the end of 2026
- South African Citizenship or permanent residence in South Africa with a valid work permit
- A full-time in office presence is required at Incomar's facilities in Pretoria, Gauteng from January 2027
- Knowledge of mechanical component and assembly design, development, and analysis
- Exposure to design & simulation packages (e.g. SolidWorks, MATLAB, MSC Nastran)
- Proficient in MS Office
- Successful candidates will be required to commit to an initial 12-month Graduate Development Programme
- Successful candidates must be willing to commit for a Graduate Development Programme of up to 24 months
- Successful candidates offered permanent positions after the initial 12 months will be required to commit to a minimum of a 24-month workback employment term following successful completion of the 24-month Graduate Development Programme
- Successful Candidates will be required to provide an up-to-date police clearance certificate
Desired Qualifications
- No specific work experience is required, however general exposure to aeronautical and/or mechanical engineering activities and/or exposure to the aerospace and defence industry will be beneficial
- Interest or knowledge in stress analysis of aerostructures and components
- Interest or knowledge in thermal analysis of avionics enclosures
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- General interest in the Military, Defence and Aerospace Industry
