Job Summary
The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, growing, and optimizing RedHat 6.x and CentOS Linux systems. This role involves application deployments and upgrades, ensuring maximum service availability through failure prevention, monitoring, and disaster recovery processes. The position includes providing second tier support to the Service Desk team and participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Key skills include proficiency in Linux system administration, Cisco routing and switching, and Windows server administration, along with experience in server hardware and effective communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- 3-7 years RedHat or CentOS Linux OS administration
- At least 2 years of Cisco L2 and L3 routing and switching
- 2-4 years of Apache support
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, SMTP, RIP, EIGRP
- 2-3 years Windows 2002/3008 server administration
- Experience in server hardware technologies, including SAN
- Effective oral and written communication & documentation skills
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support role with above technologies
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
