Job Summary
Cleans and maintains the library building and grounds; buffs, strips and waxes floors; shampoos carpets; replaces light bulbs; handles snow removal; prepares maintenance reports and maintains inventory of bathroom and cleaning supplies; safeguards the building during an emergency and escalates issues to appropriate personnel; communicates with Library Manager on branch needs; travels between branches within the assigned network and may be assigned to work at other locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
- Prior basic custodial/building superintendent work
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of standard practices, materials and equipment in commercial building cleaning
- Knowledge of material safety data sheets, safety practices and procedures
- Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated flexibility and reliability
- Ability to perform manual cleaning, heavy lifting, snow removal, working from high ladders/scaffolds/electrical lifts
- Must pass physical exam
