Job Summary
Junior Learning Designer at RaceRocks, a remote-first Canadian team, contributing to the design and development of training systems for defence, aerospace, and marine. Collaborate with SMEs, Learning Designers, Project Managers, and Artists to design lessons, break down complex information into engaging formats, and produce media-rich eLearning content. Assist in creating storyboards, ensuring clear learner objectives, and supporting testing of Distributed Learning packages in LMS environments with SCORM/xAPI reporting. Work under supervision with guidance from senior designers, reporting to the Director of Delivery and collaborating with the Director of Design. Emphasis on applying instructional design principles, understanding learner characteristics, and selecting appropriate media and technologies to meet training needs. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience working in educational technology and adult learning
- Some demonstrable practical experience designing effective online, blended and/or distance learning experiences
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clarity and passion
- Ability to work independently with supervision on longer term projects as well as in small cross-functional teams
- Inclusive and collaborative approach to work in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team
- Familiarity with instructional design principles and eLearning technologies
- Proficiency in content authoring tools
- Some experience with multimedia and graphics software
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma (education, adult learning, distance learning or related an asset)
