Job Summary
Maintain currency with case law, statutes, and regulations while providing timely, comprehensive, and strategic legal advice to clients. Effectively manage a high volume of family law matters by reviewing and preparing pleadings, affidavits, briefs, fact statements, and organizing disclosure. Docket time as appropriate and develop positive relationships with clients and other professionals. This junior role requires two years of experience and a solid working knowledge of the Divorce Act and Family Law Act. The firm offers a mentoring program and excellent support staff for new lawyers.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a similar capacity
- solid working knowledge of the Divorce Act
- solid working knowledge of the Family Law Act
- knowledge of other applicable statutes
- knowledge of applicable court rules and procedures
- knowledge of the Supreme Court Family Rules
- knowledge of the Provincial Court Family Rules
