Job Summary
As a Junior Inspector, you will oversee and document contractor compliance with contractual requirements, take detailed measurements for accurate payments, prepare daily reports, and assist with contractor submissions. Required qualifications include a recent graduation from a Civil Technician or Technologist Program, excellent communication skills, knowledge of laws and design standards, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to travel to construction sites. Previous experience on MTO projects and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D are assets. This full-time position offers a salary range of $43.7K - $58K depending on candidate qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Recent grad from Civil Technician or Technologist Program.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel to construction site.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of appropriate laws and regulations (environmental, health and safety, etc.).
- Knowledge of design standards, Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications/Standard drawings (OPSS/OPSD’s), and methods and materials associated with municipal/highway construction.
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Word and Excel).
- Experience working with MTO projects, and municipalities for grading, paving, underground water main, sanitary and storm sewers, roads, and bridge construction would be an asset.
