Junior High PE/Coach

Job Summary
Provide instruction and coach students in a junior high physical education/sport program, developing instructional plans, and supervising athletic activities to promote growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Manage practices, coordinate competitions, schedule events with the athletic director, and ensure compliance with UIL rules. Instruct and advise students on NCAA eligibility considerations for scholarships, and maintain equipment, safety protocols, and transportation coordination as needed. Maintain open communication with parents and school staff, and oversee the coaching program’s evaluation and planning to support student-athlete development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Current first aid, CPR, and AED certificate
- Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements (optional)
- Knowledge of coaching techniques and UIL rules
- Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
- Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical (include if bus driving duties are required)
- 2 years coaching or participant experience in sport assigned
