Junior High Assistant Wrestling Coach

Job Summary
Assist the head coach in teaching and coaching junior high students in wrestling; develop drills and practice activities to enhance individual and team skill development; supervise students at practices, home events, and out-of-town activities; enforce safety and health rules and regulations; document requirements for physical examinations, parental consent, and eligibility; communicate effectively with players, parents, officials, and school staff; implement district policies and maintain positive relationships with home and school and the community; perform duties as assigned by the Athletic Director, Principal, and head coach; adapt coaching to developmental stages of players and ensure proper behavior and safety during practices and competitions; flexible to seasonal calendar of junior high wrestling; 12-week terms per district policy; part-time role.
Required Qualifications
- Background Checks
- Clearance on all background checks required by law
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with students, peers and adults
- Must have ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, board policy, administrative procedures/forms, and government regulations and guidelines
- Must be able to complete forms, write reports, and engage in written correspondence with parents
- Must have the ability to write clearly and complete lesson plans
- Reasoning: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Must be able to apply knowledge of current educational theory and instructional techniques while presenting subject matter to students
- Technology: basic computer functions; district software for recording grades and student information
- Attendance: consistent and regular
- Conditions and Environment: school environment noisy and active; outdoors for extended periods
