Job Summary
Plans, organizes, and implements an engaging Science curriculum for 7th and 8th-grade students, adhering to educational best practices and state guidelines. Designs lesson plans using a variety of teaching techniques, prepares materials, evaluates student performance, and communicates progress with guardians and staff. Supports diversity and equity initiatives while participating in faculty meetings and training opportunities. Coaching and extra-curricular opportunities may be available.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of pedagogy and the best practices of education with a focus on the Illinois Learning Standards for Science (NGSS)
- Ability to design lessons that teach curriculum in an engaging manner, applying various teaching methods
- Enjoy working with a diverse group of students of different socio-economic backgrounds

- Strong supervisory and classroom management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to maintain professionalism
