Job Summary
Junior Pet Stylist in Grooming role focusing on learning and performing basic grooming services under supervision. Responsibilities include bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning according to pet parents’ instructions, ensuring animal safety, maintaining a clean salon, sanitizing tools, and assisting with scheduling and record-keeping. Training program spans Weeks 1-3 on on-the-job learning and Weeks 3-10 on productive grooming activities, with emphasis on customer service, adherence to grooming policies and safety standards. Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by the schedule. Indoor work environment in grooming salon with physical duties (bending, kneeling, lifting up to 30 pounds) and potential exposure to a noisy/wet environment.
Required Qualifications
- 0-1 year of animal-related experience preferred
- high-school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- genuine passion for animals and desire to pursue a career in pet grooming
- Capability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments
- effective verbal and written communication with pet parents and grooming team members
