Job Summary
Support civil engineering teams with GIS mapping, data management, and spatial analysis. Create high-quality maps, figures, and exhibits for reports, proposals, and field teams. Maintain and update geodatabases, feature classes, and metadata while performing spatial queries, geoprocessing tasks, and basic modeling. Assist with field data collection and integration from GPS, mobile apps, and survey data. Help standardize workflows, templates, and data QA/QC processes by collaborating with project managers to understand requirements and deliver accurate GIS products on schedule. This role offers a collaborative culture where you work alongside experienced engineers and GIS professionals to contribute to infrastructure, environmental, and community-focused projects across the Rochester region.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and basic geoprocessing tools
- Familiarity with data formats such as shapefiles, geodatabases, CAD files, and spreadsheets
- Strong attention to detail
- Interest in learning engineering-focused GIS workflows
- Solid communication skills
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical teammates
- In-office location in Rochester, NY
