Job Summary
Junior Financial Planner supports financial analysis, modeling, and research for the City of Ottawa’s long-term fiscal planning and strategic financial initiatives. Responsibilities include maintaining financial models, contributing to forecasting, reporting, and performance monitoring to support city-wide and departmental operations, and assisting with initiatives such as the Long-Range Financial Plan, Development Charge analytics, infrastructure reviews, and corporate financial performance metrics. Requires strong analytical and financial modeling skills, advanced Excel proficiency, knowledge of budgeting and forecasting, and effective verbal and written communication for collaboration and reporting. A four-year university degree in finance/accounting/economics or related field and at least 3 years of related FP&A/financial analysis experience are required; CPA (Ontario) is desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Four (4) year University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, or financial analysis
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) current with CPA Ontario is desirable
