Job Summary
Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed cost estimates, tender submissions, Bills of Quantities, and procurement schedules. Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to gather essential cost information while identifying and quantifying factors such as production time, materials, and labour expenses. Monitor market trends in Ireland and Europe, manage risks, and assist in value engineering and cost-control exercises. Maintain the estimating database, update it on material fluctuations, and prepare priced tenders with accuracy within deadlines. Report weekly and monthly data to site teams and stakeholders, and attend pre and post tender meetings.
Required Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 1+ years of relevant experience in estimating roles within the construction or manufacturing sectors
- Strong knowledge of Irish construction standards, procurement processes, and building regulations
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Causeway, Buildsoft, Cubit, CostX) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills for interaction with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
