Job Summary
Junior Environmental Professional at Hart & Hickman. Responsible for supporting and managing environmental assessment and remediation projects locally and nationally, both in the field and in the office. Involves site investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, and technical reporting; collaboration with project managers and senior consultants on Phase I/II ESAs, vapor intrusion assessments, and NC Brownfields projects. Learn to navigate state and federal environmental regulatory programs in North and South Carolina. Participate in field activities including site inspections, sampling events, and remediation oversight with meaningful time spent outdoors and on-site. Work within a team of experienced environmental professionals and pursue mentorship and growth into leadership roles while contributing to diverse, technically challenging projects across the Carolinas and beyond.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 2–4 years of environmental consulting experience with demonstrated field and technical experience
- Familiarity with environmental site assessment and sampling protocols. Experience with regulatory programs in the Carolinas is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Someone who's curious, takes initiative, and wants to grow into a well-rounded consultant and leadership role over time
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including in outdoor and field conditions
