Job Summary
Collect data and gather information for technical documents while performing standard analysis tasks under close supervision. Design sections of electrical systems for new and renovated buildings, covering power distribution and lighting, using AutoCAD and/or REVIT. Apply basic to advanced knowledge of electrical circuit theory, power distribution, network systems, and signals/controls to create building design plans. This role involves working within Popli Design Group's multi-disciplinary engineering team, with occasional travel between NY State offices and project sites. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and up to three years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Basic to advanced working knowledge of electrical circuit theory and design
- Basic understanding of power distribution
- Basic understanding of computer network systems and associated communications infrastructures
- Basic understanding of signals/controls
- Knowledge of CAD software principles
- Academic experience in a CAD software package
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited program
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- Travel between PDG offices (Syracuse, Rochester, Binghamton and Buffalo), as well as to project sites may be required on occasion
- Travel will be required within NY State
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or REVIT
- Relevant experience of up to three years
- Technical Report Writing Ability with fluency using the English Language
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
