Job Summary
Junior Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to support NSWC Crane DoD program; responsibilities include engineering support across system design, calculations, and technical documentation; develop mechanical/electrical system designs, drawings, CAD models, and layouts; assist in system analyses across lifecycle; produce and review technical reports and documentation; support project coordination, schedule tracking, deliverables, and documentation control; participate in design reviews and interface with engineers, leads, PMs, and external stakeholders; conduct ship checks, cost estimates, and updates to technical documentation such as SRDs; work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Experience or familiarity with engineering design, system integration, or technical project support
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD) for system modeling and design layouts
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and support project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
