Job Summary
Junior Engineer in the NYC Department of Design & Construction’s Construction Management Unit. You’ll receive hands-on training and assist in moderate to difficult civil engineering work, including research studies, investigations, examinations, and field surveys/inspections, under supervision (Engineer-In-Charge or Resident Engineer). The role spans design, drafting, engineering investigations, estimating, specifications, structural computations, and site inspections across multiple specialized engineering areas; located in New York City (LIC, NY).
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college
- Authorization to work in the United States is required; no sponsorship for international employees (visa/OPT)
- Experience level: entry-level in civil engineering setting (Junior Engineer)
- Eligibility for civil service title of Civil Engineer Intern or open-competitive list awareness (exam #2009 or #5047)
