Job Summary
Junior Electrical Controls Designer to support electrical design for custom HVAC and dehumidification systems; design electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams, PLC programming with Carel Software, and apply NEC/UL standards. Select components (motors, circuit breakers, relays, VFDs, controllers) and present selections to Purchasing in Excel; assist with creating production standards and procedures; contribute to continuous improvement and R&D; support PLC-based control system development; occasional travel to customer sites. Requires 2+ years in electrical design or engineering, proficiency in creating electrical schematics, familiarity with HVAC or refrigeration systems, and AutoCAD; Carel and Automation Direct (DirectLOGIC) experience is required; familiarity with Allen Bradley, Siemens is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; 4-day work week and benefits noted in posting.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years in an electrical design or engineering role
- Experience with Carel and Automation Direct (DirectLOGIC)
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Familiarity with HVAC or refrigeration systems
- Knowledge of NEC and UL standards
- 2+ years of PLC programming experience (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or similar field) (preferred)
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
