Job Summary
Junior Data Engineer at RealityMine joining the Data Engineering team in a hybrid Manchester-based role. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining real-time and batch ETL pipelines on large datasets using Python and SQL, improving design and tooling, designing and developing ETL and infrastructure-as-code scripts, and ensuring production uptime. You will work with experienced engineers through code reviews and pairing, grow into a well-rounded data engineer, and have opportunities to work with AWS/GCP and Spark. After a settling-in period, you’ll join the out-of-hours on-call rotation with additional compensation. Hybrid arrangement: 2 days in the Manchester office and the rest remote. Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of SQL and Python professional development experience as a Data Engineer, preferably using AWS or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience using Apache Spark (scala or python) is preferred, however training will be provided
- Exposure to optional AI tools to enhance productivity and quality of coding, reviews and documentation
- Knowledge of agile software development best practices including continuous integration, automated testing and working with software engineering requirements and specifications
- Strong analytical and communication skills to take a data driven approach in presenting decisions to stakeholders
- The ability to problem-solve and break down complex problems, whilst working on large and complex datasets
- Good interpersonal skills, positive can-do attitude and willing to help other members of the team
