Job Summary
Conduct routine manual labor for cleaning, building maintenance, and grounds upkeep, including washing floors, cleaning windows, and operating equipment like lawn mowers and snow blowers. Ensure daily cleanliness of bathrooms and cafeterias while inspecting the interior and exterior for repairs and maintenance needs. Perform tasks such as painting, stocking restrooms, and operating building systems including boilers and HVAC units. Lift up to 50lbs and work during snowstorms for snow removal. Report to the junior custodian or supervisor of buildings and grounds. Available Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm for a 52-week position.
Required Qualifications
- excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Must be available during snowstorms for snow removal
- Exhibit considerable knowledge of hand and power tools, materials and other equipment used in custodial and maintenance trade
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- The individual must be punctual and have outstanding attendance practices
