Job Summary
Junior Counsel – Litigation to support management of litigation matters affecting the organization, working closely with senior attorneys, internal stakeholders, and outside counsel. Responsibilities include assisting with pre-litigation, administrative, and litigation matters; drafting motions and briefs; coordinating with outside counsel; conducting legal research and providing practical guidance on litigation risks, dispute resolution strategies, and compliance; supporting law & motion and discovery processes; assisting with appearances, hearings, arbitrations, and trials; contributing to settlement negotiations and policy/process improvements; and handling contract-related projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license in good standing to practice law in California
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant litigation experience
- Experience with employment and traditional labor matters
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a practical, business-oriented mindset
- Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, sound judgment, and integrity
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal business partners and outside counsel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Teams, and Lexis Nexis; experience with SharePoint, Salesforce, Legal Files, Paycom and/or ADP is preferred.
