Junior Cost Engineering Analyst

Job Summary
Review and analyze customer requirements and scope to prepare costs and estimates during sales and project budgeting phases. Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Sales Operations and Proposals, to gather costing information and clarify project scopes. Host costing reviews with subject matter experts to benchmark estimates, perform scenario comparisons, and identify root causes of cost discrepancies. Compare actual to estimated costs of completed projects to document lessons learned and improve future estimating accuracy. Collaborate with the CFO to recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives that increase process efficiencies and reduce costs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering or Technical Field
- 1-3 years of experience in estimating and/or financial analysis in manufacturing/construction industries
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Strong research and analysis skills and ability to present reasons for assumptions
- Effective relationship building capabilities
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate with all levels of the organization
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities
- Self-motivated, hardworking and takes initiative to solve problems
- Strong communication skills, able to present information effectively and clearly to Sales and Executives
- Creative thinking with a focus on continuous improvement
