Job Summary
Assist in the preparation and presentation of sushi and other Japanese dishes following established recipes and techniques. Maintain the sushi station’s cleanliness and organization to uphold hygiene standards. Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and food preparation tasks. Ensure ingredients are fresh and of high quality, and comply with food safety regulations. Help manage inventory and stock to avoid waste, and contribute to a professional, collaborative kitchen team. Stay updated on sushi trends and culinary techniques to uphold the restaurant’s high standards in a fast-paced, luxury-hotel environment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience or training in Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation
- Passion for food and a willingness to learn and grow within the culinary field
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is advantageous but not mandatory
- Must be currently in UAE
