Job Summary
Junior Buyer responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of pet products across dedicated categories to align with company objectives. Duties include analyzing sales data and product performance, creating a balanced product portfolio, guiding product selection and discontinuations based on market trends and customer feedback, researching and identifying potential suppliers, negotiating pricing, conducting market research, and collaborating with planning, suppliers, and store operations. You will also collaborate with the visual merchandising team to establish visual standards and utilize planogramming systems (Quant Retail) to create compelling in-store experiences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, merchandising, or a related field
- 3-5 years of retail buying or planning experience, preferably in the pet industry
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other data analysis tools
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to show initiative and be resourceful
- Passion for pets and understanding of pet industry trends
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and results-driven environment
