Job Summary
Junior Buyer at Price Industries Limited/Antec Controls in Winnipeg, responsible for supporting procurement of materials and services for day-to-day operations. Learns and applies purchasing fundamentals under mentorship, creates purchase orders, monitors open orders, assists with expediting to support production, manages safety stock and inventory accuracy, and builds relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Supports RFP/RFQ activities, executes small RFQs, and contributes to cost-saving initiatives while ensuring purchasing documentation is complete and properly approved. Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1-3 years in purchasing/procurement or administrative roles, with strong organizational skills and proficiency with ERP systems (IFS or similar is an asset). The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and delivering excellent service to internal customers in a Winnipeg-based, in-person team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field
- 1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or administrative experience
- Willingness to learn corporate purchasing processes and procedures
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Comfortable using computers and ERP systems (experience with IFS or similar is an asset)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, initiative; and a customer-service mindset
- Basic understanding of how purchasing interacts with other departments is an asset
