Job Summary
Junior Buyer/Buyer at Coherent Corp. evaluates and selects suppliers for materials, components, and services; issues Purchase Orders and ensures timely delivery; negotiates pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings; monitors supplier performance and resolves supply issues; maintains accurate purchasing records in ERP; conducts material planning (MRP) and coordinates with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to align scheduling; analyzes procurement data, supports new product introductions, and drives continuous improvement in sourcing and procurement processes. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years of purchasing/planning experience, strong Oracle ERP knowledge, and effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Working conditions include onsite/hybrid/remote arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain functions
- Strong understanding of planning and purchasing item attributes within Oracle ERP system
- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to manage and develop supplier relationships effectively
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a wide range of detailed and diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to integrate cross-functional knowledge, including manufacturing processes, customer service requirements, accounting principles, product design, and ERP system functionalities
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin preferred
