Junior Budget Analyst

Job Summary
Monitor and track obligation and expenditure of funds, detect and reconcile fiscal discrepancies, and provide cost-effective reporting to decision makers. Assess products and procedures for compliance with Government standards, accounting principles, and system application standards while integrating business and financial management processes. Work directly with a NASA client at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, requiring on-site presence five days a week. Submit for a Public Trust background investigation and hold a BA/BS degree with 1-4 years of budget analysis experience. This role supports MDW's capabilities in budget execution and financial systems integration for federal government clients.
Required Qualifications
- 1-4 years of experience in budget analysis or related field
- Possess a basic understanding of budget formulation, execution, and administration process
- Ability to monitor and track obligation and expenditure of funds, detect, reconcile and remedy fiscal discrepancies, and provide cost effective, insightful reporting to decision makers
- Familiarity with financial management, business case analysis, cost estimating and/or outsourcing requirements
- Proficiency with Excel
- Candidates for this position must possess a BA/BS degree
- Public Trust - Candidates for this position must be submitted for a background investigation in order to satisfy government requirements
- Interested individuals must reside in the area or be immediately willing to relocate
- Must be available for on-site meetings and other in-person requirements 5 days/week
