Job Summary
Junior Automotive Technician / Mechanic role focused on GM light-duty trucks. Responsibilities include performing maintenance and repairs on GM light trucks, assisting with diagnostics and troubleshooting (engine, electrical, drivability), supporting engine and transmission removal/re installation, completing brakes, suspension, steering, and general repairs, performing oil changes, inspections, and preventive maintenance, using scan tools and basic diagnostic equipment, test driving vehicles to verify issues and repairs, and maintaining a clean, organized work area with documentation. Requirements include 1–4 years of mechanic experience, ability to perform maintenance and basic repairs independently, some diagnostic ability or willingness to learn quickly, experience with GM trucks or gas engines preferred, ability to learn engine and transmission work, valid driver’s license, and own tools; ASE certifications are a nice-to-have. Location is Geismar, Louisiana (US) at a BCR Shop with on-site work; schedule is full-time, 8–10 hours/day, 5–7 days/week; compensation is DOE.
Required Qualifications
- 1–4 years of mechanic experience (auto, light truck, or similar)
- Comfortable performing maintenance and basic repairs independently
- Some diagnostic ability (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Experience with GM trucks or gas engines preferred
- Ability to learn engine and transmission work
- Valid Driver's License (MVR required)
- Must have own tools
- ASE certifications (Nice to Have)
