Job Summary
Junior Asset Artist role in a small, growth-focused studio (fixed term until June 2027) located in Warrington, UK. You will create accurate 3D models using a modular kit, set assets up in the Unreal Engine with gameplay elements, and be mentored by a Senior Asset Artist while collaborating with all departments to align on the project’s art direction. The role emphasizes learning and development within an inclusive, people-first culture, with a hybrid working arrangement and a comprehensive benefits package. Key technical requirements include proficiency in Maya and Substance Painter, experience with ZBrush, Unreal Engine or similar engines, a solid understanding of PBR workflows, strong UV skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to creating assets and shaders. The team values communication, collaboration, and a willingness to learn and share skills across disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- High proficiency in Maya and Substance Painter or equivalent packages
- Experience with Zbrush
- Experience using Unreal Engine or similar engines
- Good understanding of PBR workflow
- A problem solver with their own creative ideas
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organisation skills
- Ability to convert concepts to 3D and gather their own inspiration/reference
- Bonus Points: Experience in Photoshop and Illustrator, Experience in setting up and creating shaders within Unreal Engine
