Job Summary
Junior Architectural Technician/Technologist needed to join Studio PDP in London. Graduate role focusing on prime residential, hospitality and offices across RIBA stages 3–5, with emphasis on retrofit and low energy design. Training in building physics topics (u-values, cold bridging, moisture movement) and opportunities to work with the in-house building physics team. Responsibilities include producing technical and working drawings to a high standard, preparing detailed drawings and models with NBS specifications, delivering presentations/reports, supporting project deliverables, collaborating with architects and consultants, and assisting with site inspections and quality control. Requires UK qualifications in Architectural Technology or equivalent, proficiency with Revit and Microsoft/Adobe software, knowledge of PassivHaus, retrofit experience, and strong communication/teamwork skills. Benefits include 22 days leave (plus Christmas closure), CPD, mentoring, pension, and learning opportunities. Salary is stated as London Living Wage.
Required Qualifications
- UK recognised BA/ BSc (Hons) in Architectural Technology, HNC, HND or equivalent
- Ability to produce detailed drawings
- An understanding of low energy design
- PassivHaus knowledge
- Experience / knowledge of retrofit
- Skilled Revit user and fluency in Microsoft packages and Adobe packages
- Knowledge of Fire Safety regulations
- Able to demonstrate construction knowledge
- Continuous development of technical knowledge
- Knowledge of codes, practice standards, and industry expectations
- Working knowledge of UK legal and statutory regulations and processes
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong design and drawing skills
- Ability to work to deadlines
- A proactive attitude, and a willingness to contribute to wider practice groups and activities
