Junior AI Engineer (Research & Innovation) LOCAL FOR PARAGUAY

Job Summary
Research, evaluate, and experiment with emerging AI technologies to design, build, and validate AI Proofs of Concept and pilot solutions. Develop AI-powered applications, automation workflows, and chatbots using Python or C#, while integrating Large Language Models and Retrieval-Augmented Generation into existing products. Implement Prompt Engineering strategies, develop REST APIs to connect AI services, and test the performance and scalability of these solutions. Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to identify opportunities, document technical findings, and follow software engineering best practices including version control and CI/CD pipelines. Join a nearshore team in Asuncion, Paraguay, working onsite from 9 AM to 6 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 1-3 years of software engineering experience, internships, academic projects, or AI-related experience
- Strong proficiency in C# or Python
- Understanding of software engineering principles and object-oriented programming
- Experience developing APIs and backend services
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated interest or knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies (mostly on how it works, not only using it)
