Job Summary
Process chargeback invoices, stipends, reimbursements, and P-card transactions while maintaining proper documentation for accounts payable and receivable. Complete bank reconciliations, process deposits, and apply cash receipts to appropriate grants. Prepare and review monthly journal entries for indirect costs, gross revenues, and deferred income to ensure compliance with GAAP, Uniform Guidance, and university policies. Assist with month-end and year-end closes, prepare tax returns, and coordinate with principal investigators to support timely grant fund expenditure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field
- One (1) year of professional accounting experience preferred
- Experience using ERP or accounting software (SAP, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service
- If hired, candidates must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
- This position is classified as a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act
- All candidates must pass a background check, including a criminal records check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with grant or nonprofit accounting
- Knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200)
- Experience working in higher education
- Familiarity with sponsored research administration
- Experience with Finance Enterprise or any other accounting software
