Junior Accountant

Job Summary
Maintain accurate books of accounts, conduct bank reconciliations, and prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations to ensure financial records are audit ready. Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns in compliance with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) requirements, including VAT, EWT, and FWT, while liaising with government agencies and supporting audits. Monitor customer collections, follow up on outstanding balances, and reconcile customer accounts to support cash flow. Review supplier invoices, process payments, and support cash flow forecasting. Review payroll accounting entries and coordinate with HR regarding statutory obligations. This role reports to the Senior Accountant within the finance department, supporting an efficient and well controlled finance function for the C8 business.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years in similar role
- Direct experience with Philippines tax legislation and compliance
- Relevant Accounting Qualification
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products, primarily Excel (Pivot tables, V lookup, etc.)
- Good organizational skills with strong ability to multi-task and keen attention to detail with large data sets
- Plans and prioritizes work effectively and ensures deadlines are met
- Communicates effectively when there is an issue preventing a deadline from being met
- Proactive approach to issue resolution and follow up
- Must be able to speak and write English fluently
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be located in Manila, Philippines

- Experience in invoice automation/registration of system implementation in the Philippines
