Job Summary
Junior Accountant in Auckland focused on supporting NZ privately-owned businesses. Day-to-day includes collaborating with the Private Enterprise compliance team to prepare annual accounts and tax returns (and monthly management work), handling data entry and spreadsheet work, drafting accounts, responding to client queries, and supporting the team with administrative tasks. You’ll attend in-house or external training to improve proficiency in professional accounting software, apply learning to practical challenges, and gain hands-on experience while progressing toward Chartered Accountant qualifications. The role offers a permanent, full-time schedule with hybrid work across office, client, and home hubs, and supports ongoing study and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- A recent high school graduate or first-year student pursuing Accounting with plans to obtain CA professional qualification upon completion of studies
- Interest in working with small to medium-sized firms
- Willingness to balance work with part-time study
- Ability to collaborate with compliance team and support preparation of accounts and tax returns
- Data entry and spreadsheet proficiency
- Interest in learning accounting software and providing financial solutions
