Junior Accountant (AP+AR)

Job Summary
Receive and reconcile vendor invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation, then record payments and prepare payment runs while responding to vendor inquiries. Generate customer invoices on schedule, apply incoming payments, monitor outstanding balances, and reconcile customer accounts to ensure numbers tie out. Support the month-end close, maintain organized historical records, and partner with purchasing, receiving, and operations to resolve billing discrepancies. Provide requested documentation for quarterly and year-end audits while following internal controls and protecting financial confidentiality. This role offers mentorship from the Controller and training in ERP systems and AI automation tools within an FDA-regulated, ISO 13485-certified contract manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience
- Working understanding of basic accounting principles, including AP, AR, and invoice reconciliation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, plus Word and Outlook
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Detail-oriented mindset
- Organized and steady work style
- Curiosity about AI and automation with willingness to learn
- Team player who takes direction well, asks smart questions, and wants to grow
- On-site, full-time employment at the Somersworth, NH facility
- Ability to sit and view a computer monitor for extended periods
- Ability to move between floors and departments, including walking up and down stairs
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping
- Experience with modern AI and automation tools
- Exposure to a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with vendor relations or customer billing
- Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping
- Hands-on use of AI or automation tools to reduce repetitive data entry and manual processing
- Hands-on experience with ERP or accounting systems (specifically Deacom)
