Job Summary
FIELD RESEARCH ASSISTANT at Quality Consulting Group supporting Phytogen Seed Company research programs in Salinas (USA) and Salinas (Puerto Rico/territory). Responsible for a wide range of field and processing tasks including planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations, sample harvest, field equipment operation (tractor, cotton picker), sample sorting/packing, general facility tasks, and adherence to supervision of Field Technician. Tasks will be seasonal and may occur indoors or outdoors. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or related natural sciences, ability to interpret field observations, standardize qualitative data, relate observations to quantitative metrics, and demonstrate leadership and organizational skills. Availability for 1st and 2nd shifts, weekends, and holidays; driving of a company vehicle as needed. The position is temporary and focused on supporting ongoing research activities in a manufacturing/agronomy setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy or in Natural Science or related fields
- Interpret field observations
- Standardize qualitative data
- Relate observations to quantitative metrics
- Leadership and Organizational Skills
- The contingent worker will be responsible of the process to expedite the needed driver license when asked. (This is a requirement for employment)
- 1st & 2nd shift.
- Availability to work all shifts, weekends and Holidays.
